Privacy Policy
The short version
We keep your account, and the app sends us usage totals for it: tokens, spend and savings. We count page views. Your prompts, your code and the model's responses never leave your computer.
What the website stores
If you sign in with Google or GitHub, your name, email address and the account ID they give us. It sits in a Supabase database we run. We do not sell it, share it, or add you to anything else.
What the app sends us
Once you sign in, hourly usage totals: how many requests went to each model, from which coding agent, the tokens they used, what they cost and what Probe0 saved. Also the Mac model, macOS version and app version it runs on, and when you signed in. We use this to measure and improve what Probe0 saves.
What the terminal install sends us
The command-line install asks you to sign in once, in your browser, while it installs. It also sends an anonymous count: a random install ID made on your machine, the OS, CPU type and Probe0 version, how the install finished, and once a day how many requests went through Probe0 and from which coding agents. Nothing that identifies you. Turn it off with probe0 telemetry off, or set PROBE0_NO_TELEMETRY=1 before installing. About every six hours it also downloads our public installer to see if a newer version is out, and updates itself when the proxy is idle. That check sends nothing about you. Turn it off with probe0 update --auto off. While you are signed in, it sends the same hourly usage totals and device details as the app, tied to your account, until you run probe0 logout. The Mac app also installs this command for you, without a second sign-in. Downloading needs no account; the app and the installer each ask you to sign in during setup.
What stays on your Mac
Everything else. The proxy runs on your machine, and the request records, cache and settings are written to its own disk. Prompts, code, responses, file paths and project names are never sent to us.
Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics to count visits. It sets no cookies and does not store your IP address. What it records is the page you landed on, where you came from, your country, and roughly what device and browser you are on. Visitors are counted using a hash that is thrown away and regenerated every day, so nobody can be followed from one day to the next, or across other websites. There is nothing here we could use to identify you.
Visit and download counts
We also keep our own anonymous counts of page views, clicks on Download, and copies of the install command: the page, the site you came from, any utm tags, your country, and which build you picked, tied to a random ID that lives only in this browser tab and is gone when you close it. No cookies and no IP address. If you are signed in, a download click also records your account so we can match it to the app.
Cookies
Only the session cookie that keeps you signed in. Nothing for advertising or tracking, which is why you have not been asked to click a banner about them.
Server logs
Our host, Vercel, keeps normal server logs for a short period. Those do include IP addresses, the same as any web server.
Getting your data removed
Email shlokmadhekar88@gmail.com and ask. We will delete your account and everything tied to it, and reply to confirm. You do not have to explain why.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, everyone with an account gets an email about it before it takes effect.
